I understand where you are coming from on this one. Would you believe that it took me 14 years to get Jon to eat a PB&J?? Well, it was his friends eating it in front of him that finally got him to try it. Now he eats two sandwiches at a time. Of course, he is 5'9" and 180lbs. Peer pressure still works at his age, even when food is concerned.

Yea, this time of year we can't spend much time outside unless it involves us getting wet. We are lucky to have access to three different pools between friends, family, and the YMCA. So we don't get burned out too quick.

yeah for PB&J! Glad Edie is broadening her views on what good food is. Don't you just love the pool? This is our first year of having access to a pool and we have been living there for a week now.

Yay for Mommy! Natalie is the same way, isn't it bizarre?? I thought I had the only kid who wouldn't eat pizza, donuts, hamburgers, etc. I swear she lives on pasta, beans, and rice. She does eat veggies (just had to throw in something redeeming about her eating habits!)

My girls are the same way, but Natalie is definitely the worst. She does like sandwiches now, but didn't for a while. She just started liking hamburgers and pizza, but still doesn't like hot dogs. We've been eating dinner at church all week for VBS and she's lived on PB&J there because she doesn't like anything else they've served.

I normally go with the technique that she can't eat _____ until she has eaten so much of ______. This works pretty well, but I often find myself saying, "You can't eat JUNK FOOD #2 until you have finished eating JUNK FOOD #1." As long as she gets one serving of fruit/veggie for the day, I consider that a healthy diet day.

I am sooooo with you on this one. Emma was the same way, and thankfully at 4, the peer pressure started to work on her. The kid wouldn't even try pizza till she was thrust in a room with her t-ball team at a Pizza Hut party. Seeing that all the other kids liked it, she tried and loved it. Finally! That was the turning point with her. I was very persistent, and now I can usually coerce her to at least try some things.

The second time around, Jake is even more stubborn and pickier. He still refuses any normal kid food either. It is reassuring to me to see that your persistance paid off...gives me some motivation to keep fighting that battle with Jake tomorrow.
